This unprecedented UAW Stand-Up strike targeting General Motors, Ford, and Stellantis at once is already creating a ripple effect across the automakers causing temporary layoffs at other plants. As the strike drags on, suppliers will begin to feel the impact as well. Beyond the Tier 1, there are thousands of smaller Tier 2 and Tier 3 suppliers that are exposed and at greater risk.

Jan Griffiths, founder of Gravitas Detroit and host of The Automotive Leaders Podcast, joined us to explain just why these Tier 2 suppliers are more vulnerable and she shares her insights on how Automotive Executives should lead their employees and businesses through a disruption like this.

 In this episode, we discuss:

  • The latest strike updates between the UAW and Automakers
  • The difference between Tier 1, and Tier 2 suppliers and why the sub-tier is more vulnerable
  • Steps automotive leaders should take to prepare for the impact this could have on their businesses.
