BIOTECHNOLOGY COMPANY

Issue:

When an American supplier of scientific instrumentation contracted with the United States government to supply Viral Transport Media (VTM) for the collection of COVID-19 samples, it needed to ramp up production from 50,000 units per week to 8 million per week. The company added 120,000 square feet of manufacturing capacity, but couldn't hire 300 local personnel fast enough so they reached out to MADI for help.

Solution:

Bringing in experienced production and packing personnel who could step into the operations and acclimate quickly would enable the company to ramp up production on schedule and without any interference with their ongoing local hiring efforts.

Results:

Drawing from our national talent pool, we rapidly deployed 50 personnel each week over a three-week period to fill in the 150+ open production and packaging positions. MADI Supported their operations for 3 months until full-time employees could be hired from the local area.

COSMETICS MANUFACTURER

Issue:

An American multinational cosmetics, skincare, fragrance, and personal care company experienced a 6-week production delay due to a software implementation project. The company was struggling to hire full-time employees and their local staffing agencies were not able to provide the structure, skilled talent, and oversight needed to quickly and efficiently ramp up production.

Solution:

Drawing from our national talent pool, we rapidly deployed a small team of 15 to the project site. With the level of talent provided, reliability of personnel, and structure with on-site management, the company began adding personnel to the site growing to 100+ Line Operators, Operator Technicians, and Processors to increase production output and fill the skilled positions that had remained unfilled at the plant for some time.

Results:

MADI's team remained on-site for 4 months to help them catch up on production and build up inventory within the department that had substantial open skilled trades positions before our arrival.

EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER

Issue:

An American manufacturer and distributor of agricultural and construction heavy equipment was unable to hire enough seasonal labor from around one of their Midwest assembly plants in a state with low unemployment.

Solution:

Drawing from our national talent pool, MADI brought in 100+ experienced Assemblers, Welders, and Press Operators from around the U.S. that acclimated quickly to their production environment. MADI maintained staffing levels for 6+ months to ensure production deadlines were met in a market with increasing manufacturing demands.

Results:

With the help of MADI’s experienced production workers, the company was able to keep production on schedule despite 2.9% unemployment. MADI has continued to provide support to this facility over a multi-year period given high competition for industrial talent in the area and continued low unemployment rates.

HARDWARE RETAIL COOPERATIVE

Issue:

When businesses shut down at the beginning of the pandemic and Americans were stuck at home, many stayed busy with home renovation projects. As a result, hardware companies saw unexpected increases in consumer demand. When the world's largest hardware retail cooperative did not have enough warehouse talent to support increased demand, they contacted MADI to support their U.S. Operations.

Solution:

Drawing from our national talent pool, MADI was able to provide immediate warehouse staffing support to 9 distribution centers in 9 different states.

Results:

By working with a national crisis staffing agency like MADI, they were able to strategically deploy and relocate experienced Order Selectors and Reach Truck operators across the U.S. as their needs evolved throughout the course of the pandemic.
